Youth festival 2024

This blog is written as a task given by Prof. Dr. Dilip Sir Barad. It is about the Youth Festival 2024 at Maharaja Krushnakumar sinhji Bhavnagar University (MKBU), held from the 16th to the 19th of October.

The Youth Festival 2024 at Maharaja Krushnakumar sinhji Bhavnagar University (MKBU) took place from October 16 to October 19 and was a true celebration of the skills, energy, and creativity of students. This four-day festival brought together students from various colleges, giving them a chance to display their talents in music, dance, drama, art, and literature. The campus was alive with excitement as students showed off their skills and made unforgettable memories.

KALAYATRA :-

The youth festival began on October 16 with an opening ceremony. Students, teachers, and special guests joined the celebration. The day started with a colorful procession where students wore traditional outfits, danced, and played music, honoring India’s rich culture. Speeches by university leaders highlighted the importance of creativity and positive competition. Right after the opening, students took part in dance and singing competitions, which filled the campus with energy and excitement.

The Kala Yatra procession started at Shamaldas Arts College and ended at Swaminarayan Gurukul College. Many colleges took part in this event to raise awareness about important social issues, like women’s safety and the rise in rape cases.

This year’s Kala Yatra had several important themes. These included the increase in rape incidents, Gujarat’s cultural identity, problems in the education system, the negative effects of social media, the value of indoor and outdoor games, the lessons from the Bhagavad Gita, and the nine emotions (Nava Rasa) in drama. One main theme focused on the rise in rape cases, showing women’s suffering through strong images.

For our presentation, we focused on the challenges in the education system and made both handwritten and printed posters to share our theme. The procession began at 4:30 PM from Shamaldas College and reached Swaminarayan Gurukul College at 7:15 PM.

Mimicry :-

Mimicry is a special skill where participants use their voices to copy different sounds. This includes sounds like trains, bullets, helicopters, conch shells, animals, doors, birds, and even characters like Farah Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Oggy, and Doraemon. Some participants made their performances more fun by adding rhymes.[Click here]

    Skit :-

Here are the video of skit :-[Click here]

The skit covered several important issues. It started with serious topics like unemployment, problems in schools, and discussions about rape cases.

The performance showed how people deal with losing their jobs and financial troubles, which can make them feel sad. It discussed how rape victims find it hard to get justice because of laws and how society views them. The skit also talked about the challenges faced by non-binary people, who often experience unfair treatment and fewer opportunities. It highlighted how issues like bribery and favoritism can impact job chances.

Even though the topics were serious, the skit used humor to make it enjoyable. It included music, different voices, and changes in how fast people spoke to keep the audience interested and help them remember the message, just like the funny style used in Horatian satire from the Neo-Classical period.
